The “Red One” movie is an American action movie thriller that was released in the year 2024. It was directed by an American director, Jake Kasdan, who is also an actor.

The ‘Red One’ movie cast comprises characters like Dwayne Johnson as Callum Drift, Chris Evans as Jack O’Malley, Lucy Liu as Zoe, J.K. Simmons as Nick (Santa), Kiernan Shipka as Gryla, Kristofer Hivju as Krumpus and Wesley Kimmel as Dylan as the main characters.

Introduction to the movie Red One

The Red One movie storyline goes like this. In the first scene of the movie, a child is looking forward to seeing Santa Claus for the forthcoming Christmas festival. He is being told by his uncle that Santa is soon going to be with them for the festival that night.

Another scene shows us a hacker and a bounty hunter, Jack, who knows no bounds when he has to solve any case. Working as a freelancer, he is absolutely non-serious and knows how to finish the task given by absolutely any means, without any remorse. Surely a lawbreaker, but tracking down notorious criminals all over the places in the world at the right price.

Santa Claus, who is also referred to as the right one, resides at the North Pole with his teammates. Santa has his own reindeers, who carry him all over the place.

He is protected by the North Pole’s head of security, Callum Drift, who is highly capable and a no-nonsense man. But he wants to quit the job and move ahead in his career.

Santa Claus is kidnapped

In the next scene of Red One, but suddenly, Santa Claus is kidnapped by some miscreants in the middle of the night, a few days before 24 hours of Christmas Eve.

The director of North Pole security, Zoe, informs Callum that they need to work together, as the culprits have hacked the intercontinental seismic surveillance system. She tells him that he can’t do the job of finding Santa and would require the help of a highly capable hacker called Jack. Reluctantly, Callum agrees to this, and the hunt for the hacker begins.

The director of the North Pole, Zoe, catches Jack and enquires from him whether he has helped the culprits track Santa from the North Pole. He admits to having helped them but has no other information about them, as he only spoke for the money.

Callum and Jack work together to find Santa

Now, in the next scene of the movie, Red One, Zoe takes Jack to their headquarters, where she introduces Callum to Jack and asks Jack to work with them in tracking Santa. Jack tries to refuse initially, but after some force is used by her team and he learns that they will pay him double the amount that he got for giving the information regarding Santa, the red one, he finally agrees.

Jack and Callum start to work together, despite some rift between them because of their opposite personalities. Callum takes Jack through a toy store and informs Jack that the toy store serves as the North Pole Field network transit system. He also tells Jack that they work for 364 days a year and deliver gifts to many billion individuals across 37 time zones on Christmas day without being detected by humans.

Callum and Jack get to know the kidnapper

They reach a beach, where they are confronted by some men, who get thrashed by Callum, as he changes his body size from small to big and from big to small while fighting. They get to know that the person who has kidnapped the Red one is Gryla, the Christmas bitch, who wants to punish all the people who have ever lied, been late, or been rude to anyone.

Just then, some snowmen enter the beach from a bus from the sea and start to chase them. They can turn anyone into snow whom they hit with their swords. The snowmen start to overpower them, but just then, Callum discovers that they can be destroyed by taking out their carrot noses, which these men have.

Santa, the red one, has a brother too

Callum and Jack, along with the director Zoe, come to know that the Gryla is collaborating with Santa’s brother and is up to something. Callum informs Jake that the red one and his brother Krumpus were initially working together and were distributing gifts to children who behaved well.

Then his brother made a list of badly behaved children to punish them. Sants became furious with this idea, and this was the reason for a rift between them. Gryla and Krumpus then started to work together in punishing the badly behaved children, but parted ways afterwards.

Callum and Jack go in search of Santa and reach a place guarded by strange creatures called hellhounds. They just manage to dodge them and enter the place that is supposed to be where Krampus stays. Callum directs Jack not to touch anything unnecessarily in this unnatural world, but Jack, as per his personality, grabs some gold coins from the treasure lying there.

They are both taken captive by the strange-looking guards and taken to their master, who is Krampus. Callum explains to Jack that it was a treasure of gifts, given to Krampus, and that he has made a mistake in stealing from it. Krumpus knew Callum from earlier times and recognizes him.

When Callum asks him about his brother, the red one, Krumpus tells him that he is not there. Krumpus tells him that Gryla gave him a gift some time ago, which is actually a glass cage, and she came to get it back. Krumpus is convinced that she wants to punish the people using that cage.

Callum and Jack escape from Krumpus’s place

Krumps tells Jack to go away and tell his people that Callum is in his custody. But Jack, due to his presence of mind, engages Krumpus and persuades him to fight Callum, even though Krumpus is much more powerful than Callum.

Callum is forced to fight Krumpus and exchange blows with him. Just then, Jack switches on the power switch on Callus’ arm, and some giants appear to fight for them. But Krumpus, being strong, destroys them. Taking advantage of the chaos, both Callum and Jack manage to escape from there.

Callum starts to trust Jack, and they develop a comradeship after that. They both decide to save Christmas by finding the red one and looking for Santa together again. During discussions, they come to the conclusion that Gryla actually manufactures glass cages for keeping the prisoners in them in order to punish them. But then their conversation is heard by Gryla, as she is a witch with supernatural powers.

Jack gets trapped in a cage

While traveling in the car, they see a German piano in the middle of the road. Both Callum and Jack get out of the car to inspect the piano, but it is a trap set by Gryla. There is a gift on the piano, and when Callum opens it, he finds a glass ball in it.

Just then, Jack’s son calls him on the phone and tells him not to send him any gifts anymore. Jack finds that his son also has the same gift, and suddenly his son disappears. Panic sets in, and Jack also grabs the ball from the car, and he also disappears. While he is about to disappear, he tells Callum to find him after he disappears.

Both Jack and his son find themselves in a place, in small glass cages. Gryla has actually taken them hostage in the glass cage, and she has a factory where hundreds of such cages are manufactured to keep the deviants as prisoners in them.

Here, Callum asks his director, Zoe,  about the glass cafe and comes to the conclusion that the glass manufacturing factory may be at the North Pole, where the prisoners may be punished. Callum and Zoe are convinced that Santa, the Red One, is kept as a prisoner at the North Pole, and they have been tricked in a kidnapping drama.

Callum rings up Red One’s workplace but learns that the shapeshifters reside there, who can take any shape to confuse others.

Here, Jack tells his son Dylan that Santa is missing, and the lady who has kidnapped him is a witch who has got the glass gift from the Christmas goatman and is going to make millions of such glass cases from the machine.

He and his son have a conversation, where his son says this is because of his bad behavior, and Jack says that he is not that good at all. Jack explains how he hasn’t been a good father to his son, and both are caged because of his own sins. Jack tells Dylan that from now on, he will try to improve.

Jack and his son are free

Just then, their glass cages break and they are set free, as they have decided to be good. Just then, Callam and Zoe appear there, where she informs Jack and Dylan that they are at the North Pole. Jack also informs them that Gryla was saying that she was going to ride herself and distribute the snow globe gifts to everyone who was on the list.

They start to rush to stop her, and in the meantime, other members of Red One’s team also meet them. They reach the spot, from where Sants used to leave, for the different parts of the globe, to deliver the gifts to kids.

Gryla is about to leave from there along with the snow globes, but Callum and the team arrive. They have a fight with Gryla’s men, and while they are engaged in the fight, Gryla leaves on the raindeers to distribute the gifts with Santa in her custody.

Callum and Jack both try to grab her, but she, being powerful, throws them away. While running, Gryla loses balance and falls into the gorge. They ran towards Santa, where he lay unconscious and tied.

Just then, Gryla comes in her original form in the form of a giant-sized witch. They tell her to go, but she insists that she is going to take the red one with her to use his powers for the distribution of glass cages.

Finally, Gryla is overpowered

Gryla is about to kill everyone when Santa, the red one, comes there and calls his faithful reindeers, who appear from the sky and hit her from all sides. Gryla falls on the glass cages and is herself caged in one of the cages.

Krumpus also leaves on good terms. Santa, the Red one, is saved, and the Christmas gift ceremony takes place as usual, like it used to be.

While going for the gift distribution voyage, Sanst also asks Callum, Jake, and his son to join in the gift distribution. Santa and his team work tirelessly and distribute all the gifts to children all over the globe. All the children are happy to get their gifts. Callam wants to stay there, and Santa is happy to have him again.
